The company was founded by pilot Mark, whose passion for aviation began when he heard stories from his grandfather about flying B-24 bombers during World War II. Inspired by those stories, Mark developed a lifelong fascination with aviation. After taking a few flight lessons early in life, he returned to flying after a 25-year break to earn his Private Pilot Certificate. Today he enjoys flying aircraft such as the Cessna 172 and the Citabria for both business and recreation.

While completing his flight training, Mark discovered that many flight bags on the market did not meet the needs of modern pilots. After discussing the problem with his flight instructor, he decided to design his own solution. That idea led to the creation of the original Flight Outfitters Lift Flight Bag. What began as a single pilot gear bag quickly evolved into one of the most popular aviation gear brands available today.
