The company’s primary goal soon became the training of post-war military pilots returning from active duty to work in the early civilian airlines. The company’s goal was the franchise of the popular Merrell Ground School under the name “Aviation Seminars of America,” or ASA.\u003cbr\u003e\u003cbr\u003eIn November, 1976, Joe Cucchiari purchased the company. “Aviation Supplies and Academics” replaced Aviation Seminars of America as the name to go with the ASA acronym, and the company again broadened its product line to add cassette courses and new books and training materials. The company was incorporated in 1977. In 1981, Joe Finelli joined the organization, bringing 20 years of experience in printing and publishing with him. Adding earseal covers is an easy and inexpensive headset upgrade that can make a big difference in comfort. These earseal covers improve comfort by creating a soft contact surface between your headset's earseals and the area on and around your ears.
It's the standard pilot log for a reason. Many different flight time categories with just enough space for remarks. As a helicopter pilot, it would be nice if the endorsements section wasn't fixed-wing focused; but I get that there are a lot fewer helicopter pilots out there, so I won't dock any stars for that. This is my third ASA-SP-57 logbook at this point, and I intend to keep getting more of them in the future.
This is nearly identical to my first pilot logbook, but with a new smooth matte black cover. This logbook checks all the boxes from student pilot through Commercial. It might just be the only logbook you’ll ever need. Fly safe!
