CERTIFIED AeroLEDs - SunSpot 36-4596 HX Aircraft Landing Light w/pulse, 28V

The SunSpot Landing Light 36-4596HX LED Landing Light has a pulse/wigwag feature that greatly increases recognition in daylight and at night to help avoid midair collisions. If using more than one HX light, installation simply requires a sync circuit to sync the pulse feature (see accessories). The SunSpot also uses half the power compared to incandescent lights. AeroLEDs advises that the pilot switch to pulse or wigwag after takeoff and remain in this mode throughout each flight. The SunSpot series lights are mounted in the wingtips, landing gear, or cowling. If you have a PAR 36 ring mount, the SunSpot 36 series fits your aircraft! This light is FAA, STC, and PMA certified. This is a potent light source at 11,00 lumens and 150,000 candelas.

About AeroLEDs SunSpot 36 Series Lamps

AeroLEDs SunSpot 36 Certified LED landing and taxi lights consume less power, output more lumens (total light output), and are not affected by vibrations than incandescent bulbs. These attributes make the SunSpot ideal for experimental, certified, commercial, and military aircraft. The SunSpot series outputs a wider beam that illuminates an object's color due to the blue-green color temperature instead of “grayed” out images from an incandescent lamp's orange-red color temperature. AeroLEDs offers several SunSpot 36 (PAR 36) drop-in replacement options that are PMA and STC certified.

LX vs. HX

The SunSpot 36 Series LX performs as a standard light with the constant “on” mode. The HX version includes an integrated Pulse or WigWag feature that greatly increases recognition in broad daylight and night operation to avoid midair collisions. Additionally, while in the recognition mode, the SunSpot’s draw half the current. AeroLEDs recommends that the pilot switch to Pulse or WigWag after takeoff and remain in this mode throughout each flight. The SunSpot series lights are designed to be mounted in the Wingtips, leading-edge, cowling, or landing gear. If you have a PAR 36 ring mount, the SunSpot 36 series will fit your aircraft.
