RPM Technology - PolyGone™ 310-AG Gel High-Performance Polysulfide Depolymerizer / Stripping Agent | 2045-205

PolyGone 310-AG is a professional-grade gel depolymerizer / stripping agent designed specifically for the aerospace industry. It effectively removes cured polysulfide and other sealants from a wide range of surfaces, including integral fuel tanks, windows, and exterior surfaces. Its gel-like texture, similar to grape jelly, allows for easy application on both vertical and inverted surfaces, or for targeted spot removal.

PolyGone™ 310-AG Gel is a uniquely formulated agent that effectively penetrates, disintegrates, and disperses stubborn sealants. It allows for suspension of the broken-down sealant, preventing it from re-depositing and making rinsing a hassle-free process.

PolyGone 310-AG Gel is designed for use at room temperature (68°F-80°F) and can be further enhanced by gentle heat (120ºF/49ºC) and/or agitation, such as ultrasonic waves. These techniques help to effectively strip away sealant and expose underlying layers when necessary. It is important to use PolyGone 310-AG Gel at full strength, as dilution or excessive heat above 120ºF can compromise the emulsifier. To ensure optimal results, RPM Technology recommends using PolyGone 310-AG Gel in a well-ventilated area and covering the cleaning apparatus to prevent evaporation.

PolyGone™ 310-AG Gel is easily soluble in water. While using water to rinse the product is effective, rinsing with a gentle cleaner like eOx® (also offered by RPM Technology) and then using pure water can provide even better results by completely removing all residues. Adding an emulsifier can also aid in rinsing by creating a "sheeting" effect, preventing sealant buildup and reducing water consumption. For situations where water is not ideal, IPA or acetone can be used as a compatible solvent.

The PolyGone 310-AG Gel from RPM Technology is safe for use on metals, with a non-ionic and non-reactive formula. Tests have shown no loss in metals such as Cu, Fe, Al, Zn, and Ti when treated with PolyGone 310-AG Gel. However, it is not recommended for use on certain polymers and plastics, including PVC, polyvinyl alcohol, and some elastomers. For best results, RPM Technology suggests using Polypropylene, Poly Olefin, Polyethylene (low and high density), Teflon, and Butyl Rubber. It is advised to conduct compatibility testing before use.

PPE: Recommend personal protective equipment (PPE) including safety glasses/goggles and nitrile or butyl rubber gloves. Aprons may be used to protect clothing. Do not use gloves made from latex or vinyl.

TOXICITY: PolyGone 310-AG Gel contains a blend of polar organics. PolyGone 310-AG Gel has a low inherent toxicity and at diluted levels, is essentially non-toxic to aquatic life. The material is readily biodegradable and does not bioaccumulate.

STORAGE:

PolyGone 310-AG Gel must be stored in a cool and dry environment away from light and incompatible materials. The recommended storage temperature is between 50ºF-80ºF (10ºC-27ºC). Under these conditions, unopened containers of PolyGone 310-AG Gel have a 1-year shelf life.

DISPOSAL:

PolyGone contains no halogenated, reactive, or other EPA-regulated components. Conformance with Federal, State, and Local disposal regulations is required. Diluted PolyGone can be disposed of by discharge to a sewage treatment plant with prior approval. Used PolyGone may need to be disposed of as organic solvent waste depending on the sealants and contaminates removed. PolyGone has a high BTU value and waste can be managed through a fuels-blending program.

AVAILABILITY:

PolyGone 310-AG Gel is available in individual 6-oz. containers, 12 x 6-oz. cases, 5-lb pail and special order 35-lb buckets.
