The Province of Quebec was originally inhabited by the great tribes of Algonquin and Iroquois who flourished there for millennia. The arrival of French explorer Jacques Cartier in 1534 led to a thriving fur trade and resulted in the founding of Quebec City as the fortified capital of New France. French-English rivalry saw the fall of Quebec City to the British upon the Plains of Abraham in 1759 and the colony was then divided into Lower and Upper Canada. Since Quebec’s founding membership in Canada in 1867, the survival of French culture has been central to Quebeckers. Quebec and its people remain among the most vibrant and colourful in the world making it a wonderful part of the mosaic that is Canada.

Whether you drape it over a sweater or tuck it into a coat, this pure-wool tartan is proudly woven in Scotland and manufactured in Canada. Each province in Canada has its own unique tartan that is a classic statement of our proud heritage. 100% merino wool provides warmth on the coldest of days while the unique Quebec tartan pattern adds a touch of heritage.
