This aviation textbook meets EASA Part 66 standards for the B2 avionics maintenance license and is designed for use in a 2-year 2400 hour Part 66/147 program. Like all ATBC - Physics modules, it aligns with the requirements of Part 66 in terms of content, sequence, and learning levels (L1, 2, or 3) necessary for an approved B2 avionics maintenance technician program, and has been approved by numerous national authorities as part of the training programs for Part 147 schools within their jurisdiction.

As prescribed in Part 66 Appendix 1, the topics are divided in 8 sections:
  • Matter (L1)
  • Mechanics (L1)
  • Kinetics (L1)
  • Dynamics (L1/2)
  • Fluid Dynamics (L1/2)
  • Thermodynamics (L2)
  • Optics (L2)
  • Wave Motion and Sound (L2)

Complete table of contents is included with the Look Inside link above.

Note that the required learning levels for B2 avionics in this edition differ from the B1 mechanical edition of this module.

Each topic is explained with understandable text and exceptional full-color illustrations in step-by-step detail. You will learn by understanding concepts and how and why each skill is useful in the day-to-day tasks of the aircraft technician in the aviation maintenance environment. For FAA A&P students, all required topics are covered, however to the somewhat higher level of proficiency as the EASA licenses require.
